41SIX VOLLEYBALL a division of TORONTO BEACHES VOLLEYBALL CLUB is committed to the holistic development of youth through and in sport, by focusing on the meaningful relationships, activities and settings that enrich the personal assets of each young athlete across the entire individualized athletic development pathway. Through collaborative research, education and distinctive services and programs, and person-centered focus will help each youth athlete to develop character, competencies in sport and life, confidence and meaningful connections with adults and peers, while establishing a foundation for personal development and long-term enjoyable participation and achievement in sport.
We encourage all youth sports organizations, programs, parents and other stakeholders to embrace and promote the following best practices for fostering inclusive, sustainable, healthy, safe and enjoyable youth sports participation and optimal athletic performance and achievement.

41SIX Volleyball Club Code of Conduct
Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct (“Code”) is to ensure a safe and positive environment within 41SIX Volleyball programs, activities, and events by making all individuals aware that there is an expectation, at all times, of appropriate behaviour consistent with the values of 41SIX Volleyball as set out in the next paragraph below.
41SIX Volleyball is committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect. 41SIX Volleyball supports equal opportunity and prohibits discriminatory practices. Individuals are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of 41SIX Volleyball that include fairness, integrity, accountability, excellence, accessibility, innovation and respect.
Conduct that violates this Code may be subject to disciplinary action which could result in the immediate removal from all 41SIX Volleyball programs and services in accordance with our Discipline and Complaints Policy.
Application of this code
This Code applies to the conduct that may arise during the course of 41SIX Volleyball business, activities and events, including but not limited to its office environment, competitions, practices, training camps, tryouts, travel and any meetings of 41SIX Volleyball.
This Code also applies to the conduct of individuals that may occur outside of 41SIX Volleyball’s business, activities, events and meetings when such conduct adversely affects relationships within 41SIX Volleyball and is detrimental to the image and reputation of our Club.
Application of this code
All individuals have a responsibility to:

Maintain and enhance the dignity and self-esteem of 41SIX Volleyball members and other individuals by:

Demonstrating respect to individuals regardless of body type, physical characteristics, athletic ability, gender, ancestry, colour, ethnic or racial origin, nationality, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, religion, religious belief, political belief, disability or economic status.

Focusing comments or criticism appropriately and avoiding public criticism of athletes, coaches, officials, organizers, volunteers, employees and members.

Consistently demonstrating the spirit of sportsmanship, sports leadership and ethical conduct.

Acting, when appropriate, to prevent or correct practices that are unjustly discriminatory.

Consistently treating individuals fairly and reasonably

Ensuring adherence to the rules of volleyball and the spirit of those rules.

Theft and any form of stealing will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The act of theft is a serious offence that can have significant consequences for both the victim and the perpetrator. At 41SIX Volleyball Club, we take theft very seriously, and we have a firm stance on it. We want to make it clear that any form of stealing, whether it's from a player, coach, or other opponents, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards theft, and we expect all players. / coaches to adhere to this policy. We believe that a volleyball club built on trust and honesty is essential for everyone's safety and well-being. Therefore, we encourage all players/coaches to report any suspicious activities or incidents of the theft immediately to the appropriate authorities. By working together and holding ourselves accountable, we can create a safe and productive environment for everyone.

Refrain from any behaviour that constitutes harassment, where harassment is defined as comment or conduct directed towards an individual or group which is offensive, abusive, racist, sexist, degrading, or malicious. Types of behaviour that constitute harassment include, but are not limited to:

Written or verbal abuse, threats or outburst.

The display of visual material which is offensive or which one ought to know is offensive in the circumstances.

Unwelcome remarks, jokes, comments, innuendo or taunts.
-
Leering or other suggestive or obscene gestures.
-
Condescending or patronizing behaviour which is intended to undermine self-esteem, diminish performance or adversely affect working conditions.

Practical jokes which cause awkwardness or embarrassment endanger a person’s safety or negatively affect performance.

Any form of hazing where hazing is defined as “Any potentially humiliating, degrading, abusive, or dangerous activity expected of a junior-ranking athlete by a more senior team-mate, which does not contribute to either athlete’s positive development but is required to be accepted as part of a team regardless of the junior-ranking athlete’s willingness to participate. This includes but is not limited to, any activity, no matter how traditional or seemingly benign, that sets apart or alienates any team-mate based on class, number of years on the team, or athletic ability.

Unwanted physical contact including, but not limited to, touching, petting, pinching, or kissing.

Unwelcome sexual flirtations, advances, requests, or invitations.

Physical or sexual assault.

Behaviours such as those described above are not directed towards a specific individual or group but have the same effect of creating a negative or hostile environment.

Retaliation or threats of retaliation against an individual who reports harassment to 41SIX Volleyball.

Refrain from any behaviour that constitutes sexual harassment, where sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual comments and sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, or conduct of a sexual nature. Types of behaviour that constitute sexual harassment include, but are not limited to:

Sexist jokes.

Display of sexually offensive material

Sexually degrading words are used to describe a person.

Inquiries or comments about a person’s sex life.

Unwelcome sexual flirtations, advances or propositions.

Persistent unwanted contact.

Abstain from the non-medical use of drugs or the use of performance-enhancing drugs or methods. More specifically, 41SIX Volleyball adopts and adheres to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program. Any infraction under this program shall be considered an infraction of this Code and shall be subject to disciplinary action and possible removal from 41SIX Volleyball programs and services in accordance with our Discipline and Complaints Policy.

Refrain from the use of power or authority in an attempt to coerce another person to engage in inappropriate activities.

Take reasonable steps to manage the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages in adult-oriented social situations associated with 41SIX Volleyball events.

Respect the property of others and do not willfully cause damage.

Promote volleyball most constructively and positively as possible

Adhere to all federal, provincial, municipal and host country laws.
